Chianti Rufina: the most famous of the Chianti sub-zones

Join me in a tour to find elegant and long-lasting wines ... so close to Florence.

A very ancient tradition, mentioned by the Grand Duke Cosimo III de’ Medici in his “Wine Law” of 1716, Rufina is the smallest, but the most famous Chianti sub-zones. But it is not in Chianti … It’s complicated, but I’ll make it easy: so, follow me!

Vineyards lie on the slopes of the Appennini Mountains. Altitude is an important factor and climate conditions are cooler than elsewhere. All this makes sangiovese grapes ripen slowly. The wines retain a crisp acidity, that makes them so refreshing and long-lasting!
