A very ancient tradition, mentioned by the Grand Duke Cosimo III de’ Medici in his “Wine Law” of 1716, Rufina is the smallest, but the most famous Chianti sub-zones. But it is not in Chianti … It’s complicated, but I’ll make it easy: so, follow me!
Vineyards lie on the slopes of the Appennini Mountains. This is an important factor that makes climate conditions cooler than elsewhere. All this makes Sangiovese grapes ripen slowly. The wines retain a crisp acidity, that makes them so refreshing and long-lasting!

- I will introduce you to the area and wines of Rufina.
- You will visit 1 or 2 significant wineries and taste their wines.
- You can have a typical lunch in a nice restaurant pairing wine with food.
- I’ll guide you during the whole tour and can reply to all of your questions and doubts.
- You’ll have the possibility to buy wines, ship them home and I can advise on good deals or relevant labels.
